Protection to our animals
One of main items used to measure forest preservation is to look at the top of food chain. In South America, presence of big sized felines is a safe evidence of high quality environment.
Araupel´s forests shelter hundreds of species that are threatened in other areas, among them we can highlight jaguars (Panthera onça), jaguatiricas (Felis pardalis), cougars (Puma concolor) and wild cats (Leopardus tigrinus). These species can survive in the region only because of presence of fauna corridors, thanks to the policy of well forest management in native and reforested lands.
